About How Big Is It?
How Big Is It? tests your sense of scale. You see a real silhouette next to something you know, like a person, a bus, the Eiffel Tower or Denmark, and you stretch it to the size you think it really is. There are 144 things to size up: animals and dinosaurs, buildings and vehicles, countries and planets, from a honeybee to the Sun.
Each round has 5 things. You score up to 100 points each: within a quarter of the true size is 50 points, and twice as big or half the size scores nothing.
How to play

- 2Drag the slider (or the silhouette) to make it as big as you think it really is.
- 3Lock in your size to see the real one drawn over your guess.
- 4Play 5 in a row and share your round score.
FAQ
What size am I guessing?
The question tells you: how tall, how long, how wide or how far across. The reference next to it is always drawn at its true size, and everything is drawn to scale with the same proportions as the real thing.
How does scoring work?
Spot on scores 100. The score drops the further off you are, and a guess twice as big or half as big as the real thing scores 0.
Where do the silhouettes come from?
Animals come from PhyloPic, a library of free silhouettes. Countries are traced from Natural Earth maps, and buildings, vehicles and everyday things are drawn to their published dimensions.
